    Zabaneh spent the past four seasons playing for Boston University

    The Charlotte Checkers have signed forward Nicholas Zabaneh to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday. 

    Zabaneh, a product of Toronto, Ont., joins the Checkers after spending the past four seasons with Boston University. In 40 games this season, he collected eight goals and eight assists for 16 points. Zabaneh also played one game for the Providence Bruins after his NCAA season ended and scored a goal.  

    Over the course of his 121 career NCAA games, Zabaneh scored 17 goals and added 28 assists for 45 points. 

    As Zabaneh joins the Checkers, he will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot in training camp.
