    New Hampshire defenseman Colton Huard has signed a two-year, one-way deal with the Charlotte Checkers, it was announced on Tuesday.

    In his senior season with the Wildcats, Huard recorded 10 assists in 35 games. Over his four-year NCAA career, Huard totaled 67 points (14 goals, 53 assists) in 134 games.

    Huard will join the Checkers — the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers — on an amateur tryout (ATO). The two-year contract will begin next season.
