The next generation of NCAA Division I Hockey players almost always go through junior hockey at one of the six top junior leagues in North America. These leagues are the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, United States Hockey League, North American Hockey League and BCHL. The top players this week are listed are in alphabetical order by their last name, not their league.
Charles Béland: Forward, Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL) University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Béland took control of 2026 Rogers BCHL Playoffs' scoring race. The Trois-Rivières, Quebec native put up three goals through three games of the Costal Conference Finals. His game two tally on Saturday helped force overtime and an eventual Clippers win. Nanaimo looks to complete the sweep tonight at 9pm CT.
Samuel Lussier: Forward, Lone Star Brahmas (NAHL) University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Two points may not seem like a lot, but for Samuel Lussier and his Lone Star Brahmas, they were impactful enough to take the first two games of the South Division Final. Lussier's marker started the scoring in game two, while his assist the previous evening helped lock up Lone Star's eventual 5-0 win. The Brahmas can punch their ticket to the Robertson Cup with a win Thursday, May 7 at 7pm. CT.
J.J. Monteiro: Forward, Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL). Providence College.
The Herd's captain had a great first weekend of the Western Conference Final. Between a pair of contests against Fargo, the future Friar notched 4 points (2 goals + 2 assists) including the game winner Friday night. His grit was on full display as well, notching 12 penalty minutes in the same span. With two crucial road games this weekend, expect Monteiro to come up big.
Josh Van Mulligen: Defenseman, Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL). Niagara University.
Despite the Tigers' elimination to the Prince Albert Raiders in game six of the Eastern Conference Final, Josh Van Mulligen went out with a bang. In the final three games of the series, Van Mulligen accumulated 5 points (2 goals + 3 assists). With the season's conclusion, Medicine Hat native ages out of junior hockey. His intensity and effort will be well used at Niagara this fall.
Mason Zebeski: Forward, Barrie Colts (OHL). University of New Hampshire
Zebeski has continued his productive postseason, as the Colts advanced past the Brantford Bulldogs to the OHL Final. In games five, six and seven, Zebeski picked up 3 points (1 goal + 2 assists). That one goal was monumental, coming in overtime to force a decisive game seven. His +4 rating also put him firmly atop the OHL Postseason Leaderboard for the category. Barrie's job isn't over, as they tango with the Kitchener Rangers for game one tomorrow night at 6pm CT.
Peteris Bulans: Defenseman, Chicoutimi Saguenéens (QMJHL) Bowling Green State University
Five points (1 goal + 4 assists) in two outings gets Peteris Bulans on this edition of Committed Corner. The young Latvian helped Chicoutimi knock off Rouyn-Noranda as the Saguenéens head to the finals against the Moncton Wildcats. Bulans joins a long list of Bowling Green commits with CHL experience. Whenever his year is done, Bulans will age out and don the Falcon logo at the NCAA level.
