The Winnipeg Jets have invited Cornell defenseman Ben Robertson and Merrimack forward Ty Daneault to their development camp, Mark Divver reported Saturday.
Robertson, a product of Potomac Falls, Va., had an impressive freshman season with the Big Red, finishing with five goals and 18 assists for 23 points in 35 games.
Prior to joining the NCAA, Robertson spent time playing for the U.S. NTDP and in the USHL (with the Omaha Lancers and Waterloo Black Hawks).
Daneault, a product of Red Deer, Alta., recently completed his freshman season with the Warriors where he had 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points in 34 games.
Before he joined Merrimack, Daneault spent two seasons playing in the AJHL with the Drumheller Dragons.
As both players make their way to Winnipeg, they will have the opportunity to earn themselves an entry-level deal with the Jets. Both players showed well in their freshman seasons and should only continue to get better.
