Denver leading scorer Jack Devine has elected to return for his senior season, it was announced Monday.
The 2022 seventh round pick ((221st overall) of the Florida Panthers had an impressive 27 goals and 56 points in 44 games this past season. Throughout his 118 game NCAA career, he has 44 goals and 62 assists for 106 points.
Before joining Denver, Devine played his junior hockey with the U.S. NTDP where he had 23 goals and 43 assists for 66 points in 82 games.
While there was hope amongst Panthers fans that Devine would sign his entry-level deal and join the organization, Devine gets an extra year to develop in college hockey.
Although his skillset would have allowed for a smooth transition to the professional level, Devine now has the opportunity to be one of the best players in the country while trying to lead the Pioneers back to the NCAA championship.
