Former Sarnia Sting forward Easton Wainwright has committed to Colgate, it was announced earlier this week.

A product of Mount Hope, Ont., Wainwright finished his third full season with the Sting in 2024-25, scoring 16 goals and adding 28 assists for 44 points in 65 regular season games.

Drafted by the Sting in the ninth round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Wainwright appeared in 216 career OHL regular season games over parts of four seasons, putting up 49 goals and 76 assists for 125 points. Prior to making the jump to the OHL, Wainwright spent time with the OJHL's Brantford 99ers as well as the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs (where he played his minor hockey).

With Wainwright set on joining the Raiders this fall, he will add a solid offensive touch to the team right out of the gates. As someone who has gotten better with each passing season in the OHL, Wainwright should be an important piece of the puzzle from the time he steps onto NCAA ice until he finishes his collegiate career.
