Former Fighting Hawks goaltender Ludvig Persson has signed a one-year deal with Brynas IF in the SHL, it was announced Monday.

A product of Goteborg, Sweden, Persson spent this past season playing for North Dakota, posting a 21-11-2 record to go along with a 2.52 GAA and a .904 SV%. Before joining the Fighting Hawks, Persson spent three seasons with Miami (Ohio).

Over the course of his four-year NCAA career, Persson posted a 40-64-10 record, a 3.24 GAA and a .901 SV% in 116 appearances.

Although he potentially could have gotten an AHL deal, Persson chose to return to Sweden to commence his professional career. He will now compete for minutes alongside former Maple Leafs goaltender Erik Kallgren.
