The Boston Bruins have signed former Minnesota-Duluth forward Riley Tufte to a one-year deal, the team announced Monday.
A 2016 first-round pick of the Dallas Stars, Tufte spent this past season splitting time between the Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Eagles. In five regular season games with the Avs, Tufte had two points. Over 67 regular season contests with the Eagles, he scored 23 goals and added 22 assists for 45 points.
Having suited up for the Bulldogs between 2016-2019, Tufte finished his NCAA career with 64 points in 121 games.
As Tufte gets sets to join his third NHL organization, he will most likely start the season off in Providence. While he has proven to be a solid AHL player and could impress at training camp, Tufte hasn't been able to establish himself as a full-time NHL player since turning pro.
