Former Penn State forward Xander Lamppa has signed a one-year deal with the Maine Mariners, it was announced Monday.
A product of Rochester, Minn., Lamppa split this past season between the Mariners and Penn State. In 35 games with the Nittany Lions, Lamppa scored three goals and added 13 assists for 16 points. Joining the Mariners after his NCAA season ended, Lamppa had eight points in 16 regular season games.
Prior to turning pro, Lamppa spent four seasons at Penn State, collecting 45 points in 114 career games.
As Lamppa looks to climb up the ladder, he established himself well in his first pro experience last season. If he can carry that momentum into the new year, he will be one to watch for the Mariners.
