Pietila suited up for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL this past season

Former Northern Michigan forward recruit Adam Pietila has committed to Wisconsin, he announced via social media Sunday.

Pietila, a product of Howell, Mich., entered the portal after Grant Potulny's departure from Northern Michigan last week.

Now a Badger, Pietila spent this past season playing for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL) where he had 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points in 61 regular season games. He also appeared in seven playoff games with the Phantoms, collecting three goals.

With this past season being Pietila's first in the USHL, he initially played two seasons with the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL) before making the jump. In 111 regular season games across two seasons, he had 42 goals and 40 assists for 82 points.

As Pietila gets set to join the Badgers in the fall, he is a solid get for Wisconsin. Capable of playing in all situations, Pietila will likely gain the trust of his coaches quickly and could be a go-to player out of the gates.
