O'Regan spent four seasons at Boston University from 2012-2016

Former Boston University forward Danny O'Regan has signed a one-year deal with the KHL's Kunlun Red Star, the team announced Sunday.

Drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Draft, O'Regan spent this past season playing in the SHL with MoDo Hockey. In 34 regular season games, he scored four goals and added eight assists for 12 points.

From 2012-2016, before turning pro, O'Regan played for Boston University where he scored 66 goals and added 88 assists for 154 points in 154 games.

Over the course of his eight-year pro career, O'Regan has played in 30 NHL regular season games, putting up six points in the process.

As O'Regan makes his way to China for the 2024-25 season, he will have the opportunity to play big minutes for the Red Star. While his numbers didn't jump off the page in Sweden, he has proven to be an offensive threat with the puck on his stick.
