Former Vermont forward Isak Walther has signed a one-year deal with the ECHL's Atlanta Gladiators, it was announced Tuesday.
Walther, a 2019 sixth-round pick of the Nashville Predators, spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Catamounts, scoring six goals and adding 11 assists for 17 points in 33 games. Over four seasons at Vermont, Walther accumulated 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 points.
Before making his way to North America in 2021, Walther spent his time playing in Sodertalje SK's youth system, playing from U16 all the way through J20 with the club. His best season offensively saw him collect 34 points in 21 regular season games.
With Walther signing a deal with the Gladiators, he begins his professional career in the Predators organization. While the Preds didn't sign him to a deal, Walther will still enter the system and look to work his way up. A talented player in his own right, Walther could be a candidate to see AHL games this year.
