Girts Silkains Transfers To Northern Michigan

Former UMass Lowell forward Girts Silkains has committed to Northern Michigan. it was announced on Monday.

A native of Talsi, Latvia, Silkains scored a goal and recorded four assists for the River Hawks in 28 games over the past two seasons.

A 2003-born skater, Silkains will now join the Wildcats for the 2025-26 season and provide depth to the Northern Michigan forward group.
