    Ilja Nikitins Commits To Merrimack

Mark Stewart-Milwaukee Journal SentinelMark Stewart-Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

New Jersey Rockets goaltender Ilja Nikitins has committed to Merrimack, it was announced late last week.

A native of Jurmala, LAT, Nikitins has appeared in six games for the Rockets 16U AAA team this season, posting a .877 save percentage with a shutout.

In his first season in the United States — 2023-24 — Nikitins was impressive for the Rockets 15U AAA squad, recording a .934.

A 2008-born netminder, Nikitins stands only at five-foot-ten, but he'll have ample time to continue to grow and develop before he makes the jump to the NCAA level.
