Minnesota's prolific performer Zach Homer is bringing his intensity to the Golden Griffins.
One of the top North American Hockey League's goal scorers is headed to Canisius University. Zach Homer of the Minnesota Wilderness announced his collegiate home on Instagram yesterday. The Detroit, MI native put up a team best and NAHL second best 39 goals through 57 regular season games. He also isn't afraid to throw his 6 foot 2, 195 frame around, earning 69 regular season penalty minutes.
Canisius went 17-6-2 this season before losing 5-2 against Mercyhurst in the opening round of the Atlantic Hockey America tournament. With the Golden Griffins graduating as many as 13 players, Homer's offense will be put to good use next season.
