The Iowa Heartlanders have re-signed former Michigan Tech defenseman Chris Lipe to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Lipe, a Rockford, Mich., native, spent the 2023-24 season with the Heartlanders, collecting three goals and four assists for seven points in 66 regular season games.
Prior to turning pro at the end of the 2022-23 season, Lipe played four seasons with the Huskies, scoring four goals and adding 21 assists for 25 points in 129 career games.
With Lipe returning to the Heartlanders for his second full season, he will likely see an increased role with the team. While his offensive numbers don't jump off the charts, he can contribute on the odd occasion and is clearly valued by Iowa management.
