Avon Old Farms School defenseman James Odyniec has committed to Army, it was announced late last week.

A product of Wilton, Conn., Odyniec is in his second season with Avon, having collected 15 assists through 27 games. Across 54 career games with the team, Odyniec has put up 17 assists.

Prior to heading to Avon, Odyniec played his minor hockey with the Connecticut Jr. Whalers as well as Bishop Kearney Selects.

As Odyniec gets set to head to Army next fall, he will be one to watch for as he most likely makes the jump to the junior level next season. Although he wasn't drafted into the USHL, teams could be intrigued by his puck moving abilities and give him an opportunity.
