Oshawa Generals goaltender Jacob Oster has committed to Vermont, it was announced Monday.

A product of Manotick, Ont., Oster just completed his second full season with the Generals, collecting a record of 32-17-4 while posting a 2.81 GAA and a .904 SP in 53 regular season appearances. With the Generals having made a run to the OHL Championship, Oster played an important part in getting them there, going 13-8 while putting up a 3.20 GAA and a .885 SP.

Drafted by the Guelph Storm in the fifth round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Oster appeared in 196 career games with Guelph and Oshawa, putting up a stat line of 100-64-17, a 3.15 GAA and a .895 SP.

With Oster heading off to the Catamounts, they will be getting a difference maker from Day 1. One of the best OHL goalies over the past two seasons, Oster combines athleticism with solid puck tracking abilities, making him hard to beat on most nights. As he heads to the NCAA, he could very well earn himself an AHL or NHL deal when he wraps up his schooling.
