Former Minnesota goaltender Liam Souliere has signed a one-year deal with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye, it was announced Thursday.

Souliere, who hails from Brampton, Ont., finished his first year with the Golden Gophers and fifth in the NCAA last season, going 13-8-2 while posting a 2.35 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage in 25 games. In a total of 109 career NCAA games with Minnesota and Penn State, Souliere posted a stat line of 52-47-5, a 2.81 GAA and a .901 SP.

Before heading off to the NCAA, Souliere played his junior hockey in the CCHL (Nepean Raiders & Brockville Braves) and the BCHL (Victoria Grizzlies). His best season came with the Braves where he went 26-8-2 while posting a .930 SP in 37 regular season appearances.

With Souliere beginning his pro career, he should be a big factor for the Walleye. A calm and composed netminder, Souliere has proven to be a difference maker and will likely see significant time for Toledo soon after the puck drops on the season.
