Shawinigan Cataractes forward Louis-Philippe Fontaine has committed to Lindenwood, Elite Prospects confirmed Friday.

Fontaine, who is in his final season of QMJHL eligibility, has appeared in 60 games for Shawinigan this year, collecting 28 goals and 38 assists for 66 points.

Drafted by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the third round of the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft, Fontaine has spent parts of five seasons playing in the 'Q' with the Huskies and the Cataractes. Across 272 career regular season games, Fontaine has scored 105 goals and added 104 assists for 209 points.

Prior to juniors, Fontaine played his minor hockey with Ecole Fadette Vert et Noir and the Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois.

With Fontaine heading to join the Lions in the fall, they will be getting themselves a player who needs little time to deposit the puck in the back of the net. Fontaine has been a key cog for Shawinigan this year and will likely play a similar role for Lindenwood in this freshman season.
