Victoriaville Tigres defenseman Maddox Labre has committed to Ohio State, it was announced Thursday.
A product of Côteau-du-Lac, Que., Labre just finished his first full season with the Tigres, scoring three goals and adding 16 assists for 19 points in 61 regular season games. Across 65 career QMJHL games, Labre has three goals and 20 points.
Drafted by the Tigres in the third round of the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft, Labre spent his time playing his minor hockey with École Sec. Du Chêne-Bleu and the Châteauguay Grenadiers.
With Labre set to join the Buckeyes in 2026, he will have the opportunity to develop his game further with the Tigres next season. Making good decisions with the puck, Labre was ranked 105th amongst North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting and will likely hear his name called at the draft in June.
