Former Rimouski Oceanic forward Mael St-Denis has committed to Clarkson, it was announced earlier this week.

St-Denis, a product of Nominingue, Que., wrapped up his fourth season with the Oceanic in 2024-25, scoring 22 goals and adding 19 assists for 41 points in 54 regular season games. With Rimouski making a deep run in the playoffs, St-Denis contributed seven points in 23 games.

Drafted by the Oceanic in the first round of the 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft, St-Denis appeared in 228 games over the course of his 'Q' career, putting up 68 goals and 68 assists for 136 points. Prior to that, he played his minor hockey for the Mille-Iles Seigneurs and the Saint-Eustache Vikings.

With St-Denis joining the long list of CHL players to be joining the NCAA, he should be another player who has the ability to be a difference maker in his freshman season. With a solid crop of CHL freshmen, the Golden Knights will be a team to watch in 2025-26.
