The Carolina Hurricanes announced Sunday they have signed Maine forward Bradly Nadeau to a three-year entry-level contract.
The 2023 first-round pick (30th overall) of the Hurricanes spent one seasons with the Black Bears, where he had 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points in 37 career NCAA games while also being named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and a Second Team All-Star.
Nadeau played a big role for the Black Bears this season, leading the team in points. The 1-2 punch of him and his brother Josh (who finished the season with 45 points) helped the Black Bears make it to the first round of the NCAA tournament where they fell to Cornell by a score of 3-1 on March 28.
Nadeau is a smart and skilled player who is most dangerous with the puck on his stick. He has the ability to disguise his release and can rip the puck. He can find teammates through seams in the offensive zone and is not afraid to drive the net to look for rebounds.
While it may be a few years before he sees the NHL, the Hurricanes can afford to let him develop. With a team filled with talented players up and down the lineup as well as prospects waiting on the sideline, Nadeau won't have to feel pressured as he gets adjusted to the professional level.
