The Montreal Canadiens have invited Maine forward Josh Nadeau to their development camp, Mark Divver reported Tuesday.
Nadeau, who just finished up his freshman season with the Black Bears alongside brother Bradly, had an impressive 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 37 games.
A product of St-François-de-Madawaska, NB., Nadeau finished second on the team in points, one behind his brother.
Prior to joining the NCAA, Nadeau played his junior hockey with the Edmundston Blizzard (MJAHL) and Penticton Vees (BCHL). His best offensive output came with Penticton last season when he scored 44 goals and added 66 assists for 110 points in 54 games.
As Nadeau heads to Montreal in about a month's time, it would not be surprising to see him impress the Canadiens staff. Instantly proving he can play and hold his own in the NCAA, he is only going to get better as time goes on and could very well earn himself an ELC.
