Charlottetown Islanders defenseman Marcus Kearsey has committed to Northeastern, it was announced on Friday.
A native of Deer Lake, N.L., Kearsey captained the Islanders this past season, recording seven goals and 21 assists in 46 regular season games.
In three seasons with Charlottetown, Kearsey appeared in 182 regular season QMJHL games, tallying 20 goals and 86 assists.
A 2006-born skater, it's likely that Kearsey returns to the QMJHL for one more season before making the jump to the NCAA and joining the Huskies.
