Former Victoriaville Tigres defenseman Mathis Aguilar has committed to Alaska Anchorage, it was announced earlier this week.

Aguilar, who recently finished his overage season in the QMJHL, scored four goals and added 11 assists for 15 points in 60 regular season games with the Tigres.

A product of Mirabel, Que., Aguilar appeared in 240 career QMJHL regular season games with the Tigres, the Charlottetown Islanders and the Rimouski Océanic. Over that time span, Aguilar collected 15 goals and 34 assists for 49 points. During his time in the 'Q', Aguilar also got into 21 playoff games, putting up two points.

Prior to making the jump to juniors, Aguilar played his minor hockey with the Nord Sélects Bantam and the Saint-Eustache Vikings.

A physical, puck moving defender, Aguilar was a solid veteran presence for the Tigres this season and will bring those attributes with him to the Seawolves. Joining a number of other overage CHL players, the Seawolves could make some noise in 2025-26.
