With their 5-2 win over Wisconsin last night, the Spartans earned their first-ever Big Ten Regular Season Championship.

Adam Nightingale took a team that went 12-23-1 in the regular season and finished last in the Big Ten to a 18-18-2 record. A year later his Michigan State Spartans are now 22-8-3 and have won the Big Ten Regular Season Championship.

An incredible turn of events for sure.

Nightingale's coaching record as the Spartans head coach is now 40-26-5 and it's only been two years.

Before he took over, the Spartans finished last in the Big Ten two seasons in a row. Now two years later, the Spartans have won their first ever Big Ten Regular Season Championship.

This now makes Michigan as the only team in Big Ten history to not win a Big Ten Championship.
