Michigan Tech cancelled its Friday night opener and pushed both its games up by a day. If you were attending, here's what to do.
Michigan Tech Hockey has announced changes to this weekend’s schedule following the postponement of Friday night’s game. If you were planning to attend, there are two important changes to keep in mind.
Sunday’s game will now be played at 3:07 p.m. This game is the rescheduled version of Friday night’s postponed game. If you originally had a ticket for Friday, that same ticket can be used to attend Sunday’s 3:07 p.m. game.
If you still have your original Friday ticket, you do not need to do anything; just bring the ticket with you on Sunday.
If you lost or no longer have your Friday ticket, you can request a replacement through the Michigan Tech Ticket Office. You’ll need to provide your name, number of tickets, and the section, row, and seat numbers.
You can also request a refund if you can't attend Sunday’s game. For a refund, you’ll need to provide your name, number of tickets, section/row/seat numbers, and the last four digits of the card used for the purchase. If you paid with cash, you’ll need to provide your mailing address. Including your original ticket receipt, if you still have it, can also help with the process. Refunds are expected to take 1–2 weeks to process.
There is also a change for Saturday’s game. The start time has been moved up to 4:07 p.m. If you already have tickets for Saturday, make sure you plan around the earlier start time.
Bottom line: If you had Friday tickets, you have three choices: use them Sunday at 3:07 p.m., request replacement tickets if you lost them, or request a refund. If you have Saturday tickets, the only major change is that the game now starts at 4:07 p.m.
This came down to a safety issue, and the school has provided many make-rights for the situation, something that has been an issue with other schools in different circumstances.
