The 2022 first-round pick signed his entry-level contract with the team on Friday

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Frank Nazar to a three-year entry level contract, the team announced Friday.

The contract carries a $950,000 annual cap hit if Nazar is playing at the NHL level.

The 2022 13th overall pick spent the last two years with the Michigan Wolverines where he scored 19 goals and added 29 assists for 48 points in 54 career NCAA games. Nazar missed the majority of last season after undergoing hip surgery in the fall of 2022.

While Chicago is in the midst of a rebuild, adding a player like Nazar to the lineup will help add excitement. An under the radar puck mover, Nazar does a great job at drawing players into his own space before dishing it off to teammates in open space. He has great distribution skills with the puck as well, with the ability to dish it over sticks and have it land directly on another player's stick in motion.

While it has not been confirmed yet, there is a possibility Nazar makes his NHL debut tonight against the Hurricanes.
