Minnesota Wild prospect Carter Klippenstein commits to Providence College, bringing his fire and intensity to the Friars' lineup.

An offensive and intense Minnesota Wild selection will be playing for Providence College this coming season. The institution announced the commitment of Carter Klippenstein today on X. Klippenstein was a solid producer over the past three campaigns with the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings before being selected by the Minnesota Wild in the 4th Round (123rd Overall) in last year's NHL Draft. In 2025-26, he notched 28 points (11 goals + 17 assists) over 38 games and tied for a team third 74 penalty minutes.

At 6 foot 3 and 185 pounds, Klippenstein goes hard to the net in a power forward style. His blend of size, skill and strength make him a good fit for the Friars. Providence's only significant loss from last year was 2025 10th Overall Pick Roger McQueen, who signed his Entry Level Contract on April 18. After consecutive heartbreaking losses in the Hockey East and NCAA Tournaments, Klippenstein looks to take the Friars further this fall.
