The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Zeev Buium to a three-year entry-level deal, the team announced Sunday.

Buium, a 2024 first round pick of the Wild, just recently wrapped up his sophomore season with Denver, collecting 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points in 41 games. Across 83 career NCAA games, Buium scored 24 goals and added 74 assists for 98 points.

A Hobey Baker finalist this year, Buium took home many accolades during his college career including NCHC All-Rookie Team (2023-24), a National Championship (2023-24), NCHC Best Offensive Defenseman (2023-24, 2024-25) as well as NCHC Player of the Year (2024-25).

With Buium turning pro and joining the Wild, they will be getting a game breaking talent into their system. Capable of creating plays that not many can make with the puck, Buium should be a Calder Trophy favourite next season and a lock on the Wild blueline for the next decade.
