Fish just finished his senior season with the Gophers, has one season of eligibility remaining

Minnesota defenseman Carl Fish has transferred to Providence College for the 2024-25 season, it was announced this past week.

A product of St. Paul, MN., Fish just finished his senior season with the Golden Gophers where he had three assists in 38 games played. Over the course of his 78 career NCAA games, he has one goal and 12 assists for 13 points.

Before joining the University of Minnesota, Fish played his junior hockey for the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL. In parts of two seasons with the team, he scored six goals and added 27 assists for 33 points in 94 games.

As Fish joins Providence, he will look to add a steadying presence to a team looking to take the next step towards competing. While the Friars finished with a record of 18-13-4 last season, adding a veteran like Fish who has seen what it takes to make it to the Frozen Four is a positive.
