Shreveport Mudbugs goaltender Nikola Goich has committed to UMass Lowell, it was announced late last week.

Goich, who hails from Homer Glen, Ill., spent the entire year with the Mudbugs, putting up a record of 24-11-3 along with a 2.24 GAA and a .924 SP in 39 regular season appearances. He also played in three playoff games, going 0-3 while posting a 1.81 GAA and a .936 SP.

Over a combined 72 career NAHL regular season games with the Mudbugs and the Austin Bruins, Goich posted a stat line of 41-20-5, a 2.28 GAA and a .918 SP. His time in junior hockey also saw him suit up for the USHL's Waterloo Black Hawks and the NA3HL's Rochester Grizzlies.

With Goich set to join the River Hawks this fall, they will be getting a goalie with good size and athleticism. He's thrived during his time in Shreveport and his confidence should allow him to make an impact in the NCAA, whether out of the gates or further down the line.
