Sheahan will continue as associate head coach this season before taking over the reins in 2025-26

Notre Dame have named Brock Sheahan head coach-in-waiting, the team announced Monday.
The Fighting Irish's current head coach Jeff Jackson announced the 2024-25 season would be his last leading the program.
Sheahan, who is currently the associate head coach for the Fighting Irish, will take over head coaching duties for the 2025-26 season.
Sheahan first got into coaching after a five-year pro career that saw him make stops in the ECHL, AHL and Germany.
After hanging up his skates in 2013, Sheahan got his coaching start with Notre Dame (where he played four years from 2004-2008) as an assistant coach for the 2013-14 season.
After one season with the team, Sheahan moved to Holy Cross in the same role. In four seasons with the team, he served as assistant coach and associate head coach before moving to the Chicago Steel (USHL).
Sheahan worked as an associate head coach (2018-2020) and head coach for the Steel (2020-2022) where he guided them to a Clark Cup Championship in his first full season as head coach.
Following his time with the Steel, Sheahan served as the head coach of the Chicago Wolves (AHL) for one season before making his way to the Fighting Irish in his current role.
As a young coach who has experienced success at numerous levels in his coaching career, Sheahan is a solid selection to lead the Fighting Irish into the future.
