Kamloops Blazers forward Oren Shtrom has committed to Alaska Anchorage, it was announced earlier this week.
Shtrom, a product of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que., is in his first season with the Blazers, scoring 14 goals and adding 24 assists for 38 points in 57 games.
Drafted by the Medicine Hat Tigers in the third round of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, Shtrom has appeared in 229 career WHL regular season games with the Tigers, Blazers, Everett Silvertips and the Prince George Cougars. Since making the jump to the WHL in 2020, Shtrom has 43 goals and 109 career points.
Before his jump to the junior level, Shtrom played his minor hockey with the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes, Rocky Mountain Roughriders and SAHA.
With Shtrom taking his talents to Alaska this fall, he will be joining a Seawolves team where he can earn himself a solid role in his freshman season. Shtrom has consistently gotten better throughout his time in the WHL and has the attributes to make a difference in the NCAA.
