Former Des Moines Buccaneers forward Reese Shaw has committed to Lake Superior State, it was announced earlier this week.
A product of Coon Rapids, Minn., Shaw spent the entire 2024-25 season with Des Moines, scoring five goals and adding 10 assists for 15 points in 56 regular season games. Over two USHL seasons with the Buccaneers and the Lincoln Stars, Shaw had six goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 99 career regular season games.
Having made the jump to the junior level at the end of the 2022-23 season, Shaw ended the year with the NAHL's New Mexico Ice Wolves. The following year, he made the jump to the USHL. Before that, Shaw played for Gentry Academy as well as the Green Bay Jr. Gamblers, Minnesota Blizzard and Team MPLS Magazine.
With Shaw off to join the Lakers, he will likely be able to grab a role heading into his freshman season. Having shown improvement in his game over the past few years, Shaw is ready for the NCAA.
