The Boston Bruins are progressing on a contract extension with goaltender Brandon Bussi, Mark Divver reported this past week.
The former Western Michigan Bronco just finished his second full season within the Bruins organization, making 41 appearances with Providence (AHL).
Having spent time in the ECHL last year, Bussi spent the whole season in the AHL in 2023-24, posting a 23-10-5 record to go along with a 2.67 GAA and a .913 SV%.
Bussi also looked sharp in the Calder Cup playoffs, posting a 2.14 GAA and a .922 SV%.
Scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1, it looks as though Bussi will be sticking around with the Bruins. With reports that Linus Ullmark could be moved out, Bussi could very well factor into the backup conversation as soon as next season.
