Former Brandon Wheat Kings forward Roger McQueen has committed to Providence, it was announced late last week.
McQueen, a 2025 first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks, spent the 2024-25 season with the Wheat Kings, scoring 10 goals and adding 10 assists for 20 points in 17 regular season games. In a further three playoff games, McQueen scored a goal.
Drafted by the Wheat Kings in the first round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, McQueen appeared in 127 career WHL regular season games over parts of four seasons, collecting 35 goals and 51 assists for 86 points.
With McQueen off to join the Friars, they will be getting an extremely talented player whose only struggle has been staying healthy. Standing at 6-foot-6, McQueen has the size needed to be a force in the NCAA, and Ducks fans will be watching him closely.
