Carpenter spent parts of three seasons at Bowling Green

The San Diego Gulls have signed former Bowling Green forward Ryan Carpenter to a two-year AHL deal, the team announced Tuesday.

A native of Oviedo, Fla., Carpenter saw time with both the San Jose Sharks and San Jose Barracuda this past season. In 62 regular season games with the Sharks, he scored five goals and added seven assists for 12 points. With the Barracuda, Carpenter had six points in five games.

Before turning pro at the end of the 2013-14 season, Carpenter spent parts of three seasons at Bowling Green where he scored 37 goals and added 42 assists for 79 points in 100 career NCAA games.

Over his 11-year pro career, Carpenter has suited up for the Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Blackhawks, Calgary Flames and the New York Rangers.

As Carpenter gets set to join the Gulls, he will certainly be an impact player for the team. It would not be a surprise to see him play games with the Anaheim Ducks as well given how much time he has spent at the NHL level since 2017-18.
