

Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Sean Barnhill has committed to Michigan State, it was announced Saturday.
Barnhill, a 2025 third-round pick of the New York Rangers, spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Fighting Saints, scoring four goals and adding eight assists for 12 points 54 regular season games. With Dubuque having made the playoffs, Barnhill added an assist in seven playoff games.
Prior to heading to the USHL, Barnhill played his minor hockey with the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes. His best offensive season saw him collect 26 points in 47 regular season games.
With Barnhill heading off to the Spartans, he will be joining one of the strongest teams in the NCAA. With Michigan State expected to challenge for a spot in the Frozen Four, Barnhill will be a good addition to a blueline filled with size and puck moving skills.
