

Former Minnesota State defenseman Steven Bellini has signed a one-year deal In Italy with Asiago, it was announced earlier this week.
Bellini, a product of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., wrapped up his senior season with the Mavericks in 2024-25, scoring one goal and adding five assists for six points in 33 games. Over 111 career NCAA games, Bellini accumulated five goals and 26 points.
Before making the trek to Minnesota State, Bellini played his junior hockey in the NOJHL (Soo Thunderbirds), BCHL (Coquitlam Express) and the USHL (Tri-City Storm). Bellini played his minor hockey for the Soo Greyhounds, Soo Thunder and Soo Thunderbirds growing up.
With Bellini heading to the AlpsHL, he will likely figure into a prominent role for his team. A mobile defender who looks to move the puck up ice, Bellini will benefit from the bigger ice surfaces in Europe.
