Former Alaska Anchorage forward Tanner Edwards has signed a one-year deal with the ECHL's Florida Everblades, it was announced earlier this week.
A product of Anchorage, Alaska, Edwards finished his first year with the Seawolves and fifth in the NCAA last season, scoring three goals and adding five assists for eight points in 31 games. Over a total of 52 career NCAA games with the Seawolves and Minnesota State, Edwards scored five goals and added six assists for 11 points.
Prior to his collegiate career, Edwards spent his time playing junior hockey with the NAHL's Fairbanks Ice Dogs and the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks. Edwards played his minor hockey for the Alaska Wolves, Alaska Oilers and the Iowa Wild.
With Edwards turning pro, he will be joining an Everblades team looking to make it back to the top of the ECHL mountain. A skilled, physical forward, Edwards should be able to make a quick adjustment to the pro game and help make a difference for the Everblades.
