Higgins has been playing for the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies

Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defenseman Ty Higgins has committed to Bowling Green, it was announced this past week.

Higgins, a product of Stratford, Ont., is in his overage season with the Huskies where he has scored 12 goals and added 35 assists for 47 points in 43 games.

Having first started his junior career with the GOJHL's Stratford Warriors in 2021-22, Higgins made the jump to the 'Q' midway through his rookie season and has been there ever since.

Over 188 career QMJHL regular season games between the Huskies and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Higgins has accumulated 38 goals and 136 points. He has also added eight points in 18 career playoff games.

With Higgins committing to Bowling Green for this upcoming fall, the Falcons will be getting a smart, offensive minded defender who will have the ability to make an impact during his freshman season. Higgins has proven to be a contributor every time he steps on the ice and should be able to make the jump to the NCAA without much difficulty.
