Former Alberta Golden Bears goaltender Tyler Palmer has committed to Bowling Green, it was announced earlier this week.

Hailing from Fernie, B.C., Palmer recently finished his first season in U Sports, posting a record of 13-4-1 along with a 2.11 GAA and a .915 SP in 18 regular season appearances. Palmer also played in six playoff games with the Golden Bears, going 3-2-1 while putting up a 1.75 GAA and a .936 SP.

Prior to heading to U Sports, Palmer spent parts of three seasons in the WHL with the Victoria Royals and the Everett Silvertips, collecting a statline of 66-56-8, a 3.24 GAA and a .902 SP. Palmer also spent time playing for the AJHL's Spruce Grove Saints.

With Palmer joining the Falcons, he joins a long list of Golden Bears departing for the NCAA. With Alberta regularly being one of the better teams in U Sports, they will have to find other players to fill the gaps left by those departing. Palmer, on the other hand, should be able to find success with Bowling Green and could see games early on this fall.
