Former Merrimack forward Tyler Young has transferred to North Dakota, it was reported Monday.

Young, who spent parts of three seasons with the Warriors, scored six goals and added four assists for 10 points in 29 games last year. Across 55 career games at Merrimack, he collected six goals and 11 points.

Prior to making the jump to the collegiate level, Young spent his time playing in the BCHL (Wenatchee Wild), NCDC (Islanders Hockey Club), NAHL (Maryland Black Bears) and the USHL (Des Moines Buccaneers & Muskegon Lumberjacks).

As Young heads off to join the Fighting Hawks for his senior season, he could be a great depth addition. Coming off his best offensive year, Young has to have confidence in his game and will be one to watch alongside a dangerous North Dakota team this fall.
