Boston University center Tynan Lawrence was drafted 11th by the Blues

St. Louis may have gotten one of the first steals of the draft, taking Boston University’s Tynan Lawrence 11th overall.

While recovering from a lower body injury last season, Lawrence bet on himself, advancing to Boston University from the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks on Jan 6. He shined brighter for the Terriers as the season progressed.

Across Boston University's final eight games Lawrence earned 6 points (1 goal + 5 assists) and put 12 shots on goals and got his ice time up to an average of around 17 and a half minutes per game.

Terriers’ Head Coach Jay Pandolfo certainly noticed Lawrence’s progress. “You just saw him get better and better,” Pandolfo told The Athletic on April 24. “Just his relentless effort and motor, creating turnovers with a good stick, his pace. And I thought in the last 3-4 games he played for us that he was arguably our best forward.”

Scouts got a sampler of what he can do fully healthy at the U18 Men's World Championship. Lawrence’s vision and physicality were excellent, and he looked like an upgraded version of the Clark Cup Finals MVP Muskegon had in 2025. Many, including myself, are projecting a breakout campaign for Lawrence during his sophomore season.

The Blues have a likely top-line center now in their pipeline, developing at one of the premier hockey institutions.
