
UMass forward Cole O'Hara has been named Hockey East Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Drafted by the Nashville Predators in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, O'Hara is in is junior season with the Minutemen. Through three games this season, O'Hara has collected two goals and three assists for five points.
A product of Richmond Hill, Ont., O'Hara has scored 13 goals and added 27 assists for 40 points in 72 career NCAA games. Prior to making the jump to the NCAA, O'Hara played his junior hockey with the OJHL's North York Rangers and the USHL's Tri-City Storm.
With the hot start to the season, O'Hara is currently sitting in second on the Minutemen in points behind Calgary Flames prospect Aydar Suniev. If O'Hara can continue his production, he could be a solid candidate to sign an entry-level deal and turn pro at the end of this season.
