Emery is slayed to join the Fighting Hawks next season

2024 NHL Draft eligible defenseman and North Dakota commit EJ Emery impressed scouts and media alike at the NHL Combine this past week.
Emery, who spent this past season with the U.S. NTDP, finished atop many testing categories including vertical jump, body fat percentage, horizontal jump, and no arm jump. He also finished in the top 10 for agility (going right - tied for second), wingspan (tied for third), squat jump (fourth) and pull-ups (tied for seventh).
Emery revealed to the media that he spoke with 30 teams and while consensus public rankings currently view him as a late first or early second-round pick, Emery could go a lot higher thanks to his performance.
While his offensive stats might not jump off the page (he collected 16 assists in 61 games with the NTDP's U18 team), Emery has proven his value when it comes to playing in his own end and moving the puck.
As the draft inches closer, Emery could be an enticing pick for teams looking for a player with a lot of potential.
