Muthersbaugh had seven points through two games this past weekend

Union freshman forward Ben Muthersbaugh has been named ECAC Forward and Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday.

In two games against Mercyhurst, Muthersbaugh scored three goals and added four assists for seven points. Through five games on the season, he has nine points.

A product of Gilford, N.H., Muthersbaugh joined the Garnet Chargers from the USHL's Cedar Rapids RoughRiders where he had nine goals and seven assists for 16 points in 30 regular season games last year. Having played three years of junior hockey, Muthersbaugh also played in the NCDC (New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs) and the NAHL (New Jersey Jr. Titans).

A skilled player who has a knack for burying the puck, Muthersbaugh has been impressive to start his NCAA career. If he can continue this production over the course of the season, Josh Hauge and staff will certainly be pleased.
