A Warroad native bolts for St. Cloud State, bringing his scoring surge and World Junior A Gold to a home state program.
Carson Pilgrim is headed home for college hockey. The former North Dakota commit announced his switch to St. Cloud State University via Instagram today. Pilgrim is had a solid season with the USHL's Tri-City Storm. He notched 41 points (18 goals +23 assists) in 51 games. This is a remarkable increase from 2024-25, as Pilgrim nearly tripled his goals, and almost doubled his points in just a year. These numbers led the Storm in goals and points while finishing second in assists. Pilgrim also won a 2025 World Junior A Classic Gold Medal while playing for Team USA.
The Warroad, MN native is someone I had the pleasure of watching from the broadcast booth several times last season. His slippery hands and shifty skating gave opponents fits. As Nick Oliver takes over the bench for St. Cloud State, he should help Pilgrim develop given Oliver's USHL experience in Fargo. I am intrigued to see what Pilgrim can do in the NCAA.
